Steve joined Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd in 2001, working in the Production Control department. Previously having worked for a number of companies in the North East in supply chain management roles after leaving Newcastle University with a BEng degree in 1989. He spent his first 15 years in Parts Control gaining promotion to Manager. His main achievement was the successful supplier preparation to support several new models at the plant including some green field and brown field new suppliers. In 2016 Steve moved to be Material Handling Manager which presented leadership challenges of managing direct, indirect and semi-direct staff in all areas of the plant as well as driving improvement and efficiency activities in the function. In January 2017 Steve was promoted to his current position responsible for coordination of SCM processes and resources for Europe region including the Nissan plants in Sunderland, Barcelona and St Petersburg. He is responsible for driving digitalisation of the SCM systems to maintain Nissan as the best in class Production Control management systems. Additionally, Steve is responsible for Supply Risk Management coordination for the Nissan and Renault Alliance supply base.
